Canon Unveils Professional Photographer Services for Asian Games 2018

Canon announced today the services available at the 18th Asian Games 2018, organized by the Olympic Council of Asia. To enable the best possible capture of the top-class athletes competing at the zenith of their sport, the Canon Professional Services Depot will be deployed inside the main press center at Jakarta Convention Center, offering technical support and equipment maintenance to accredited photographers covering the 462 medal events across 47 disciplines.

Canon has been a fixture in major international sporting events, from the Olympics to the Southeast Asian Games. This year’s games, the 18th Asian Games, will be held from August 18 to September 2 in Jakarta and Palembang, Indonesia. As many as 1,500 photojournalists from around the world are expected to cover the 18th Asian Games.

The Canon Professional Services counter will be staffed by a regional team of technical experts who will be able to provide services in 10 languages: English, Mandarin, Bahasa Indonesia, Bahasa Melayu, Japanese, Korean, Thai, Vietnamese, Cantonese, and Tagalog.

 

To ensure photojournalists are prepared for historic winning moments at the 18th Asian Games, Canon is providing equipment maintenance such equipment function checks and external cleaning, firmware updates, as well as offering technical information on the equipment.
